Keeping Up With Jones Valentines Day 1932 by Pop Momand

Arthur "Pop" Momand created this strip in 1913 and ran with it for over two and a half decades. The popular culture term "Keeping up with the Joneses" came from this strip. It is meant to make fun of the competition between neighbours to outdo each other in affluence and possessions. There must be a comic art equivalent to this saying...at least there should be. I have owned a few dailies but his is the first Sunday I have owned and a fully colored one too. I liked this for several reasons. The sledding with abandon reminds me of Calvin and Hobbes. I like that they pick up a piglet part way through their escapades and the expressions are priceless. Fun stuff from almost 100 years ago.
