"CONAN The VICTORIOUS" (1985) Paperback Cover Preliminary Art - Kirk Reinert

This is just a really cool and huge (20'x36') drawing done on a few vellum pieces affixed together as a prelim to the final cover painting for the paperback "Conan The Victorious". Something about this drawing stood out to me as just simply very clean (albeit slightly age toned) pencilwork and a cool fantastical scene. Got a neat monster, Conan and a babe.

It's kinda funny that even though the description when I bought it had the dimensions...the sheer size of this just didnt click with me until it arrived. Its as big as a poster...and I didnt have anyway to safely store it. So it has now gotten a frame and hangs on my bedroom wall where it reveals itself when the door is closed. Thanks to the wife for agreeing to let me hang it there.

Another funny side bit was many many years ago I found a framed painting print of a Wizard that I bought for my brother that he still keeps in his home office. After I got this I googled Kirk Reinert to see his other work only to find out he painted that Wizard. Makes me happy.

So BEHOLD!!!! Many Arms, Many blades, a victorious Conan and a babe!!!!
