Cochlea & Eustachia Chapter 2, Pages 46 & 47

With the recent addition of Hans Rickheit to Power Pulp Comics, I figured what better time than now to post this wonderful sequence from the second volume of C&E.

The sentient surrealism is on full display with both of these pages. Hans is able to bring such an imaginative concept to life through visual storytelling. His character form only reinforces the idea, not to mention all of the detail. The mechanical detail of the insides is impressive, but there is also some odd organic detail in those exterior shots. It creates a whole world and serves as a solid reminder that comics can be anything that you can think of. Also, that guy in the final panel reminds me of something straight out of an Adam Jones Tool video, and I love it!

Hans' detail and approach is something that I think is so unique and am thrilled to see his books available through Power Pulp now.
