It took a while, but Owl's hand picked beauty contest winner is thwarted by a key oversight on his part! This strip is definitely in my Top-10 favorite Pogo dailies in my collection; I love the expressions on the character's faces in every panel. their judges costumes crack me up, the fine inking on the large tree in the background of the first and last panels is beautiful, and it's got a great punchline in the final panel.
