Description
Day 8 deepens the mythology of the Phantom, as a simple rescue scene turns into one filled with fear, superstition, and jungle legend. The famous warning — “He who looks upon face of Phantom dies!” — gives the strip a powerful sense of mystery, while Wilson McCoy’s artwork perfectly balances vulnerability and mystique, showing the badly wounded Phantom still treated as an almost supernatural figure. The dramatic compositions and ceremonial feel of the final panel make this another unforgettable daily from one of my all-time favorite Phantom stories!

Such clever writing!  The Phantom does not even need to be awake for his story and legend to be told.
