Even on a simple sketchpad sheet, Alex Toth couldn't help making great comics.

This Wonder Woman commission has nearly everything I love about his work—great drawing, humor, storytelling, design, and that unmistakable lettering style.

The gag is a fun one: poor cartoonist Frank Godwin (of Rusty Riley fame) has been hogtied by Wonder Woman and pressed into service drawing a few stories for DC in the 1940s—a tongue-in-cheek explanation for Godwin's brief—but lovely—detour into Wonder Woman.
