Super Friends #27, page 14 (Ramona Fradon, Bob Smith, 1979) - The Supermobile to the rescue!

The Supermobile with it's extending arms was a great addition to the toy lines back then.  This may be one of those instances where they synergized the comics, movies, and toys at DC to bring more Superman to more homes.

I love the books aimed at the younger crowd.  Super Friends, Spidey Super Stories.  They made kids feel grown up, but it wasn't ugly, and they didn't talk over their heads.

Ramona's pencils are always amazing, but look at those Bob Smith inks.  Not a sign of wishy-washy brush work.  Just deep, beautiful, rich, black.  Love it.

I don't think theSupermobile had the same success as the Batmobile did, but probably 1000 times rarer!

I had one as a kid!

That is cool!  It's weird, as much as I loved superhero comics, the only superhero toy I had was a Spider-Man parachute guy.  I tried using it in the house, but he just dropped like a rock.  I knew he needed more air under him, so I took him out in the backyard and it worked!  I heaved him way up in the air, and he floated down,,,right onto the roof, and he slid down into the gutter.  I was too scared to tell my mom and dad.  About 40 years later, my dad was having work done on his pipes, which they found were crumbled going out to the street, and they found my Spider-Man parachute guy blocking up the pipe.  I had no choice but to admit what I'd done.

That is hysterical!
