When Wiley shared his painting "Looking Out" on Instagram I couldn't get it out of my mind all day. I've enjoyed Wiley's art for years but none of the pieces had spoken to me like this one did. I was absolutely smitten and wondering where she was going to be for sale or if she was even going to be available. When Gallery Ergo shared the piece in their stories as being part of their upcoming show Psychedelicatessen and I saw it later that evening I immediately emailed Matt about purchasing her even before the preview went it. It was one of those pieces I absolutely loved and would have been incredibly disappointed if I missed out on getting her. Matt got back with me the following morning and I soon had her purchased. Always a pleasure dealing with Matt and can't wait to do it again soon.
As Matt said when I purchased her "Wiley is a wizard, especially with that light refraction element". That's no exaggeration. Wiley's pieces are always so wonderfully trippy in the best way. His use of light in his pieces is phenomenal and this one is no exception. The way the colors refraction from the prism on her skin is simply fantastic. Of course she's absolutely breathtaking which is what really drew me to the piece. Can't resist a cutie with freckles. The whole piece is truly spectacular. From her gorgeous portrait down to the wonderful bokeh he captured in the background there are truly no details missed. He even went to the extent of continuing the image on the side of the panel which I was not expecting at all. Usually the sides are just painted a solid color but no, you actually have a completed painting wrapping the sides. Absolutely thrilled to have such a spectacular piece by Wiley in my collection.
