Chic Young - 1930 DUMB DORA Daily Strip FS - Bargain Priced

Chic Young (1901-1973) started the Dumb Dora comic strip in 1924, drawing the feature until 1930, when he left the strip in the capable hands of Paul Fung, Sr., in order to create Blondie.  This daily strip from February 7, 1930 is from two months before Young left the strip.  The daily has obvious condition issues, but the drawing remains quite beautiful, as Young sure knew how to delineate flappers of the period.  Dora, of course, is a Blondie look-alike.  The strip has some water staining, as well as glue stains on the back, which means that it’s bargain-priced at $85.00.  It measures 4¼”x 18¼”, which is typical for the smaller size that Young always drew his strips at.  $15.00 first class shipping.  SOLD
