V.T. Hamlin - 1960 ALLEY OOP Daily Strip - Oop + Oola + Zeus + Pegasus!

V.T. Hamlin (1900-1993) was the beloved creator of Alley Oop, everyone’s favorite time traveling caveman.  Hamlin started his creation in 1933, treating comics fans to some of the nicest drawing in the funnies.  Hamlin often employed a thicker contour line, along with beautiful hatching and cross-hatching.  Hamlin drew the Alley Oop daily strip until 1966, when his longtime assistant Dave Graue took over.  In this wonderful daily strip, published on April 15, 1964, we see Oola chatting with Zeus, who is about to send a whirlwind to Alley Oop, who is trying to wrangle Pegasus!  Yep, our caveman hero certainly got around!  The drawing is lovely, and even though it’s on the later side, you still have that wonderful contour line, combined with sweet, feathery cross-hatching.  The daily measures 6¾”x 20¾”, and is in Fine+ condition.  Terrific stuff offered at a bargain price.  $125.00 + 16.00 first class shipping.  SOLD
