Description

I was never really exposed to Jones' work until he did the Black Widow miniseries with Devin Grayson - except for Devin, he seems to like to work with writers that I don't care for! I'd been hoping to add a commission from him to the collection for a while, but hadn't been to any cons he attended. At 2002's Dallas Comic and Toy Fare, I saw a dealer that had an awesome marker drawing of Natasha; unfortunately, I had just blown every dime I had on other commissions, so I couldn't afford the measly $50 the dealer wanted for it. The dealer didn't have any business cards or email or any way for me to contact him after the con, so I wrote the piece off as lost. Flash forward to April or so of 2003. I'm in Bedrock City, one of our local comic shops, and be damned if the exact same piece hasn't shown up there. Turns out they'd met those Dallas dealers at another con and bought out all their stuff. Lucky for me! I love this piece! Great pose and great rendering on one of my favorite Marvel heroines. No clue as to whether this has been published anywhere or not; don't think it has. Pencil, ink and markers on 11x17 Bristol.
