Description

Al Rio's big claim to fame is probably being the poor guy that had to follow J. Scott Campbell on Gen13. I think Al's a top-notch artist (check out alrioart.com to see!) and was interested in getting something from him, so I was really happy when this li'l baby showed up on ebay in 2000 - Monika was a super-fun character in Battlechasers, and she's expertly rendered here. Everything about Monika is bigger-than-life, and Al did her just right. Judging by the pre-printed borders on the page, I'm guessing this was a prelim for something else. Pencil on 8-1/2x11 drawing paper.
