Description

Gene Colan can't resist saying things with his shadows. Following the nice half-shadow portrait of Dr. Strange in panel three, we get the shadow of Doc's cloak of levitation (which is concealed from view by a spell) in panel four.
Gene's mastery of cinematic techniques is also on display here, as he uses Dutch angle camerawork (ala The Cabinet of Dr. Caligari and The Third Man) to portray the psychological distress experienced by the character James Mandarin in panel five.

True master of light and shadows, absolutely love this third panel too. At last perfect storytelling. Beautiful !
