Ryan Sook – Nightwing 133 unused early proposal

This is an unused concept design for Ryan Sook's marvellous cover of Nightwing 133 (http://www.dccomics.com/media/covers/7430_400x600.jpg), showing the evolution of Dick Grayon from Robin to Nightwing.



However instead of the “reflections” concept finally used, this one uses a clockface background and a sense of clockwise motion, to suggest the passage of time as Dick starts a move as Robin and by the time it’s finished he’s in his current Nightwing outfit.



The taglines here read “From the shadows of the past… into the Night”



I prefer the final version, but this would have been cool enough if it had been used!
