Gilbert Hernandez: Birdland page 43 (originally) but page 47 in the extended collection)

The blond INEZ desperately tries to help her friend BANG BANG (sic) out of her self-induced paralysis.

Sexuality has always played a great role in both Gilbert and his brother Jaime's work and they do not hesitate to go the whole way, like this page illustrates.
But also in their more serious stories, their characters indulge in sexual plays as all people do. I like that they haven't taken the Goodiegood and boring road and given us characters who are neat, perfect and sleep with their hands above the duvet, but instead have given us personas who are truly believable, with flaws, lust, longings and hunger for love.
