Happy New Year to all and welcome to my first update for 2008!
Actually had this done a little while after coming back from SDCC last summer, but because of family heath issues, haven't really had the time to pay attention to my gallery.
Anyway, as some of you may know, I rarely have commissions done, as I am not a gambler by nature and my luck with the few I HAVE had done hasn't been very good. I've seen a large number of beautiful commission pieces on CAF and always wondered why other people have such better luck wtih them than I do. Mine just never seem to turn out the way I picture them in my head.
Well, this piece by the VERY talented Mr. Mannion has changed my attiture entirely! I was originally prompted to request a Harley piece from Steve when I accidentally stumbled upon a very nice pencil commission of her on another person's gallery. But not wanting to be a copycat, or just stealing another person's idea, I decided it might be fun to see Steve's take on Bruce Timm's Joker/Harley Mad Love theme.
The idea for a wanted poster was Steve's alone and I must say, it was a brilliant suggestion and beautifully executed. As much as I love Harley, the Joker on this piece is SO cool! And I love all the little added touches of detail scattered throughout the piece.
My thanks to Steve for not only this gorgeous piece, but for restoring my faith in commissions. I've already lined up several more from Mr. Mannion and for once I don't feel like there's an once of risk or gamble involved!
