My first Eisner. I am not sure why there isn't more of his art on the site but I feel that every serious collector should strive for a piece of his work. This page has the Spirit in the bottom tier and features the Octopus' famous gloves--I especially like the use of light/shadows.

A great example, too! Especially dig the graphic/narrative device in the third panel, and Spirit's pose bottom left.

Great peak-period work. No one could force your eye across the page like Eisner. I love that his inking isn't just solid black but also stippled, and textured. High drama. Makes you want to turn the page.

The master of the medium. Eisner's staging and chiaroscuro on this page are as good as it gets.

I can't think of a better comic artist in regard to marrying the dialogue and what's happening on the page and in each frame.....Eisner is a true master! Congratulations on this page.

Stunning Eisner storytelling! Marvellous example - I agree, every serious collector ought to strive to pick up a piece by the Master. I was delighted to have the opportunity myself to grab a few of his eclectic cartoon pieces - nothing on this level, but still and always a delight to own anything graced by his brilliant hand.
