Back in 2003, I bought a Route 666 cover by using the "Buy it Now" feature on one of John Dell's auctions seconds after he listed it. Two days later he got in touch and told me that he mistakenly put the BIN price too cheap and that he'd honor the transaction if I wanted the art, but asked me to let him keep it. In return for letting him keep it, he offered to send me a commissioned sketch of my choice. Not being interested in dealing with any unnecessary bullshit, I let him keep the cover to resell it for more money and in return I got this piece.
I actually instructed him to have Arwyn looking directly at the viewer and saying something specific as a joke for my wife, but he didn't bother. Apparently, doing him the favor of allowing him to keep the cover and make an extra $125 more than he would've otherwise wasn't enough on my part for him to pay attention to the one specific detail I wanted the piece to have. Oh well, nice sketch anyway.
