Description

From V's origin. This page details V's escape from (and destruction of) his prison after having secretly concocted napalm and mustard gas from common chemicals. The buildup to the last three panels is downright bone-chilling. A page that really stands on its own.

Moore and Lloyd took the classic origin tale, the kind we've all read hundreds of times; then twisted and bent it until they produced one of the most riveting page turners of the series. In contrast to the clear black & white art, V straddled the line between hero and villain.
