What a great idea it was to team up these two amazing artists for this story! I've always wanted a nice page from this project. I am SO jealous! Congratulations on a beautiful example!

I think Russell captured the look Kane was looking for better than most other inkers during that period. When I met him and told him how much I enjoyed these stories in particular, Mr. Kane, who had few good words for the inkers he had worked with, told me that he liked the results as well.

This is really nice with the Russell inks. Amoung the very first pages I bought was a Gil Kane 'Tales of Kazar' backup story about Sabu the tiger. Unfortunately Kane did it all in markers, which I was later to see turn purple with age.
