DescriptionHere's the third cover for Jungle Girl from Dynamite Entertainment. It was originally a Shanna the She-Devil book plate pin-up which I reworked. No, it's not for sale. Yes, I have an art agent. He's name is Steve Morger. Bother him. You can see more of my sketches and art in my website: www.apesandbabes.comSocial/Sharing |

By itself, the #3 cover is very good but compared to Frank Cho's other Jungle Girl covers, it was a little disappointing.--------------------------------------------- It is way too similar to the previous #2 cover. Almost the same swimming pose just minus the octopus. It's very serene not much happening cover but it does not reflect the action packed story in #3 which would have made a better cover by him.--------------------------------------------- Frank Cho sets high standards and has presented us with fantastic covers, for which we are all grateful and appreciative. I hope time constraints from other projects will lessen and allow him more time to devote to Jungle Girl covers.-------------------------------------------------

On his website, the #4 concept covers are excellent!----------------------------- The #4 scribble with the three Mer-Men with lasso is a better direction because it's more dramatic and shows Jana's defiant expression. It's a more tense scene. The way Frank draws intense eyes and expressions really highlights an action packed cover.

When Frank Cho draws a Jungle Girl cover, it's an event. He's excellent at drawing expressions and those drive the readers impressions of the cover. I like the covers with definitive expressions he has done (defiance, joy) but the reason the swimming #3 cover is dull to me is that Jana has no expression. That's why I think it should be dropped and replaced with the exciting and dramatic #4 Jana lassoed cover. And then we can get a new #4 cover too!

I love the line work in this cover, fantastic! Hmmm don't know how much expression you can have holding your breath diving underwater!! For me it is realistic!
