death character study

in light of the other death piece i just put up, i want to re-write this description.
this was bought at a show in detroit in 1992. it was a pretty good show: gaiman, vess, jill thompson, chris bachalo and i dont know how many others.
i went looking for shade art, but when i saw several drawings for death and spoke with chris and found out he was in the midst of drawing the series... and the drawings were pieces he had done when beginning to get the right feel for the character....well, i was hooked. i bought one and its really a character study. summer 1992 predates the publication of the hcol series by almost a year i believe.

there are a couple published advertising pieces from around this time but i really feel this may still be the earliest piece of death he did.
