DescriptionWow...In 2007, Hero Initiative allowed this Fan to sit down the Legendary George Perez and have a talk, lunch, and a sketch of Wonder Woman.....I was awestruck and it was such a moving moment for me.....Now in 2009, Hero has made lightning strike twice for me as the Ebay auction winner for the Lunch with George at this year's MegaCon. I actually didn't think I would get it because the auction ended while I was en route on the plane and I didn't plan to bid while in air (but I thought about it)...So I just put up my highest bid and hoped for the best. When I landed, I was so happy not to see any outbid text messages and so happy to find that I won!!! I have to say I was much calmer than the first time but still awestruck. It was great to talk comics, ask about the upcoming Legion issues, talk about a "Day in the LIfe of George Perez" and of course, watch him as he brought to life, right before my eyes, one my favorite and beloved characters....I was looking for a former Legionnaire, someone Classic and Heroic....I admit that I was thinking of Conner---but was concerned that George would find him a bit boring b/c his lack of a costume and thought in my mind that it would be great to see him in a Neal Adams' Breaking Chains pose....I didn't have to ask for it....George was enthusiastic about drawing Conner and was also inspired to draw him in the tradition of Neal Adams (he was reading my mind)....I really loved it....Thanks Hero and Thanks George was such an amazing time and a great weekend....You are the Best !!!!posted on George Perez's fan site http://george-perez.blogspot.com/2009/03/superboy-conner-kent-sketch.html Social/Sharing |
