Sergio Aragonés is probably best known for both his wordless 'drawn-out dramas' appearing in the margins and between panels of Mad magazine, as well as being the co-creator and artist on the humorous barbarian book Groo the Wanderer

I remember Sergio was located in Artist’s Alley at the Chicago Comicon. I asked him several times throughout the convention if he would be willing to do a request, as he normally will whip out a Groo or Alfred E. Neuman. He kept on telling me to come back later. Finally, it was in the last hours of the con, and I asked him again. He hesitated, and then finally agreed. The Legionnaire he chose was “the cute little black girl” he had drawn previously in a DC Comics Holiday Special.
