Ultra Boy & Apparition by Stuart Immonen

Stuart was right in the middle of doing Inferno and Final Night, both of which featured the Legion, and had even worked on the main Legion of Superheroes title, so I was excited to find he was attending the 1997 FallCon held at the Thunderbird Hotel in Bloomington, Minnesota.

Stuart surprised me by being the first artist to do two Legionnaires. This was drawn during the period that Apparition was continuously insubstantial in the books, so the emotion of the piece was palpable.
