Al Williamson and Archie Goodwin took over the Secret Agent X-9 (or Secret Agent Corrigan as it had become) strip from Bob Lubbers (aka Bob Lewis) in January 1967.
Just over 13 years later on February 2nd, 1980 Williamson & Goodwin decided to hang it up and move on to other things.
Al had become disillusioned with KFS's treatment of the strip and knew that something more interesting had to lie ahead.
The final words of dialogue in the strip out of Corrigan's lips, "...Doesn't seem like a bad way to END things..."
There you can see Williamson & Goodwin's farewell to the strip as well as the internal dialogue of the end of a story line.
Al handed off the strip to his old pal, George Evans.
I purchased this historic strip from Al & Cori Williamson in February 2010.
The original has an image area of 19" x 5 5/8" on a slightly larger board.
