DescriptionCes belles illustrations en crayon sont trouvées sur le verso de ma planche de Benoit Brisefer.These beautiful pencil illustrations of The Smurfs (includes Smurfette!) were drawn on the verso of my Benoit Brisefer page! According to a fellow CAF member, artist François Walthery, assistant to Peyo from 1963 until Peyo's death and a personal friend of Peyo, these sketches of the Smurfs with the airplane were drawn by Bernard Swysen in 1989. Swysen only worked in the studio for a couple of years, together with Delzenne & Maury, who started the Schtroumpf magazine that year. Peyo would have drawn the rough outlines on thin A4 paper and then Swysen would turn those into real pencil and ink drawings. Though because Peyo was known for constantly changing his mind, Swysen would often have to start over again. The page measures 39cm x 25.5cm (15.375" x 10") Social/Sharing |
