Painted c1994, approx size 9 x 6".

The prelim was published on the reverse of card #42 in Berkey's 2nd collector card set in 1996, published by FPG.

Berkey has signed "The Imorality Option Sketch" on the back of the board. Berkey did produce the actual cover art for "The Immortality Option" written by James Hogan published in 1995 by Del Rey, but it appears Del Rey requested an alternate concept, as the final art bears little resemblance to this prelim.
