Description
A once in a lifetime collaboration: Alex Toth & Terry Austin. A great match... except for those deteriorating markers!

An interesting combination indeed!! Terry's inks are usually recognizable, as Terry's inking has a very distinctive style. However, Toth's pencils must have been really strong, for this page screams more Toth than Austin. Still, an amazing pairing of great talents.

After seeing this, I had to dig up the actual issue! I also found the Superman annual that Alex and Terry did. It was really great getting to look at their collaboration! Out of curiosity, was this art done at 11X17, or was it at "print" size?

Full size. So was the Superman story, at least going by my xeroxes of the pencils.

Have you ever inquired if the markers can be restored?

I agree, there is definitely a more heavy Toth's feel to the inking than Austin's. A nice page. Isn't this the issue that got heavily edited/butchered that we discussed about on Toth's fan group on Facebook?
