Description

The Rocketeer by the late Dave Stevens was a dream for me. I devoured each chapter as it made it's way onto the shelf. A wonderful Pulp character who felt as if he had been taken directly from the Thirties. A sense of wonder and adventure was on display in each thrilling issue. Michael Kaluta has been a favorite since I first saw his "Carson of Venus" work for DC. His work stands at the pinnacle of illustrative art. I contacted Michael about a Rocketeer commission, and this is the final result. As a fan of classic aviation, I love the Autogiro. Michael was a pleasure to deal with, and is a super nice guy. Needless to say, I am very happy.

Blue Blazes! Love Michael's beautiful work! Congrads! I loved the Rocketeer when it first hit the stands too. Michael's Shadow blew me away as a kid. It's too bad he didn't do alot more work in comics. Dave Stevens, Dave Cockrum & many others left us way too soon.
