Bringing Up Father Sunday 12/10/50

Gorgeous sunday from 1950 by McManus and long time assistant Zekly. Although McManus gets all the credit for these wonderful years, it was really the collaboration and collegiality of the two that drove this strip to new heights. Many great classic BUF elements in this one with silent gags in the picture frames, the beautiful niece, the wonderful animals, a good gag and of course Maggie and Jiggs. In addition to the wonderful art deco designs, I have always been impressed with ow well the humor in these strips has stood the test of time.
