Description

While horror and crime comics came under fire by the Keefauver Commission for their brutality and gore, romance comics came under the same scrutiny for depicting pretty (and sexual) women. Here is a pin-up style splash by Bill Draut published in 1956 in True Love Problems and Advice #38. I think Draut's thick line detracts from most of this story, but the contrast of the "pretty but plain" girl in the foreground to the glamorous woman posing on the desk in intriguing... as are the edits to her cleavage.
