This is a romance novel cover by the great Ed Tadiello. It is a huge (22" by 28", not counting the frame) oil painting. It typifies the the hot passion-with-clothes-still-on that sells romance novels. My English Honors teacher used to talk about how the classic Greek statuary depicted people in an idealized, no one ever looks like that manner. Those Greek sculptors had nothing on the best romance novel artists. The graininess of her hair is an artifact of the flash which I tried to minimize.
This is the cover of Olivia Rupprecht's Loveswept (#683) novel Shotgun Wedding wherein a man who fled his "mountain hamlet" returns to marry Addy McDonald, who is, "his dangerous obsession" in order to, "keep the peace between the clans." I would have supposed that, from the description, they should be wearing Snuffy Smith hats and playing banjos instead of what we see here. They clunked these out more than once a week and sometimes probably didn't even tell the artist what the novel was about. The artists are uncredited.
