DescriptionImage Comics. April, 2008."Blam! Blam! Blam! Click! Click!" The concluding DPS of the "Made To Suffer" story arc and the destruction of the prison as a safe haven. There are less than 20 all-zombie DPS pieces like this from the entire story, so very fortunate to have this one. An all-in-all excellent example of sequential art that is even more disturbing in context. And from the landmark issue! Big thanks to Luca for working with me on this. Social/Sharing |

Such a chilling piece, and even more chilling in context. Great (and super rare!) zombie DPS!

Adlard is so good! Love how he spots his blacks and every line on the page is decisive and energetic; reminds me a bit of Sean Phillips and Goran Parlov. Great staging and action!

I never understood how so many zombies appeared. Read the series and that has always plagued me about zombies. I love them and can see how 'fast' zombies might overwhelm the world but shuffling ones? I reckon a granny in a zimmerframe could take out a few dozen before she toppled over and they overwhelmed her. Still, I read superhero comics so can raise the bar of disbelief fairly high. A wonderful, gruesome DPS. I love zombie films.

Great to see your collection last night on CAF Comic Art Live. I never finished reading TWD. Maybe I stopped near issue 200. Luckily the majority of what you showcased were from "early" in the series so they all resonated with me.
Artistically, this one speaks to me the most. Anyone that watched the AMC show will remember this moment and anyone that appreciates great sequential storytelling will love the pacing of the top panels - Frantic, quick sequences across the top. And then the long pause of the bottom half splash as the walking dead shuffle and shamble in

This truly is stunning. That low level shot really captures how big of a moment this is in the series.

Great looking panels on the dps! Seeing the last panel across 2 pages gives an extreme sense of despair..
