Planned school reform and private schools.

Kari Suomalainen (1920-1999) often made references to art, literature and theater in his editorial cartoons, and in this caption he quotes a line from a famous school scene in the first ever Finnish language novel, The Seven Brothers (1870) by Aleksis Kivi. The characters on the left are also drawn in a style reminiscant of early 1900s illustrations for the same book by the painter Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865-1931).
