Description

This is an 11" x 17" piece by Bill Sienkiewicz. I commissioned him in 2011 at the Wizard World Anaheim convention in April and this was completed in 2012, at the Wonder Con Anaheim (CA) show in March on Saturday 03/17/12, so it was just shy of a year long process. He finished it off with colorful pencils in-person, so I witnessed the creative art process of how this was created and completed. It was enjoyable seeing how he used the colors, layering and blending them like a live art demo show. This was originally commissioned as a request for a nude rendering of Marlene, from Moon Knight, one of the first mainstream series Bill Sienkiewicz worked on, and one that I actually grew up reading, which he made popular, and I'd asked for it on 11" x 17" sized paper at a convention, and he did complete a commission at that show, but it was the wrong size paper and pose (I have that image of the original commission that he ended up taking back and then re-doing another one for me, the one you see here), so that was in part to the delay and longer process.

Stunning piece, and as per usual with art, much more beautiful in person. It has a nice "fine art" feel to it and I love the unique pose.
