DescriptionGot this from Michael Alexander here on CAF – my first cover! For those of you who haven’t read Black Panther Vol. 4 39-41, do it! It’s a 3 issue tie-in to Secret Invasion and deals with the Skrulls’ attempt to invade Wakanda (emphasize “attempt”). Jason Aaron and Jefte Palo craft an excellent story and it all gets wrapped up in great covers by Mr. Pearson, of which this is my favorite. Here, T'Challa's locked in battle with a Super Skrull, this one carrying powers from some non FF characters. I’m happy to say this is my first cover purchase as this comic personally hit on all cylinders for me – one of my favorite characters in one of my favorite storylines with great interior art and a killer cover. You know this is very interesting. I was actually eye balling this piece to be my male Black Panther example but was hoping to find a different pose for the character. It's interesting that we were both eyeballing each others' Black Panther cover art.

Yup, time flies! The BP collection started with this piece AND it was my first cover so personally it’s an important one. Most importantly, though, as you say, it’s a beauty! Love all of the bold, dark inks! Thanks, Paul!

This is cover arrested me going through your collection. And I love reading a story like the one in your description. I've been wondering where your BP journey began. I hope one day I find such a brilliant cover to start a passion in this wonderful hobby.

Thanks a lot, Ryan. Yup, this was my first published BP piece as well as my first cover. Still love it as a piece of art and also as a keystone kinda moment as an OA collector. Good luck to you on finding yours! I find, as long as your criteria isn't too specific, that there's stuff out there that can check all the boxes. Persistence and patience pays :)

Pearson's art is bar none. Awesome cover. T'Challa is going to take care of that skrull for sure.
