Description
While pulling out my early Ernie Chan commissions, I found some other oldies from the same era. One of them is this Moonknight commission by Bill Sienkiewicz that I got at the Chicago Comicon in July of 1982.

I love CAF because of the treasuries you can find, like this drawing. It's really cool!! But are you sure that it was done in 1979? Style looks from a later age. In 1979 Sienkiewicz was doing the back ups for Rampaging Hulk, when he was almost an Adams clone, and this comission looks from when he already found his own style. Thanks for sharing!

You are correct. It was likely the summer of 1981, since the book came out in 1980. It is not later than 1983 (the last year I went to Chicago). I was going on memory when I put this up. I will have to see if I can dig up info on the convention to nail down a better date.

That is a pretty amazing piece for an artist so young and early into his career at the time.  Bill is a one of a kind genius.
