Commentary: This is the illustration for the cover of Men of Mystery #29 © 2001. This original drawing is based on two different panels from Jim Mooney's 40's Wildfire series. It' is a true homage to Mooney's original version of Wildfire.
It was sold as a cover recreation but is, in fact the actual drawing used for that issue. Presumably, he called it a recreation because he based it on two previously drawn works.
