What's great about Sam Glanzman's Junkpile Tank is he designed it from the ground up. I asked both Sam and Archie Goodwin about it and neither remembered enough about that time to be able to tell me why Sam redesigned Russ Heath's "sports car" junpile tank, but I suspect Sam took a practical look at it and realized it wasn't going to realistically work for him, so he rebuilt it.
Boy does it work for me! By far my favorite vehicle in comics, TV and movies combined. Issues 161-162 needs to BE a movie! Do yourself a favor, track those issues down and ALL the Sam/Archie issues around them. Dynamite stuff I promise.
