DescriptionA very nice, twice-up war cover image featuring "Battleship Burke" of Atlas war fame. Joe Maneely was the most prolific marvel artist of the 1950's, who would have been a key component of the 1960's super-hero re-birth had he not tragically passd away in May of 1958, at the exact moment (at the exact week!) Jack Kirby returned to Marvel to begin the pre-hero period.Social/Sharing |

This is such an amazing, detailed cover. You cannot help wondering what great things Joe Maneely would have gone on to if he had not died so young.

Fantastic cover - Maneely would have been one of the Silver Age greats I suspect had he lived.
