Description

This Thor piece was penciled and inked by Walter Simonson in June 1984 at a NYC Con. He asked me to fill in the empty spaces (now black) and as a kid I thought he was nuts. So I asked Klaus Janson to finish it, which he did in March 1987. The thick black lines and black areas are his work on the piece.

What a neat drawing! When I was a kid in '84 I would have been over the moon if I had been able to get a Simonson con sketch like this. It must be sweet memories for you. Congratulations!

Very sentimental. This wasn't the standard con sketch. I was kid that he knew from the cons and the community, but kept missing chances to get one of his quick con sketches. So he did this to make up for that. Yes, I was over the moon. Simonson is an awesome guy and artist.
