Description

Mike Kunkel's inspirations for Herobear and the Kid -- from Calvin & Hobbes to Disney animation -- shine through in this quick sketch. Kunkel's always boasted a loose, energetic style, and that holds true with this image. I like how he roughs in a panel border, making this seem like a snippet from a comic book.

Obtained at Comic-Con International San Diego in 2000.
