Description
Update: Here is a new image that includes the final drawing with inks by Bruce Patterson.

Previously...

Claude St. Aubin is a name that will be familiar to fans of Birds of Prey, Magnus Robot Fighter, Aquaman and a host of other books. This commission was arranged directly with the artist via email. Everything was completed in one month. Claude was excellent to deal with - great communication from start to finish. He sent two prelims for approval and a scan of his pencils in-progress.

For nostalgic reasons, Claude asked to draw the scenario from Marvel Two in One # 47, starring the Thing and the Yancy Street Gang versus a pack of villanous robots. He deliberately choose not to show the Yancy Streeters, in keeping with how Jack Kirby and Stan Lee depicted them back in the original Fantastic Four run as anonymous pranksters. Claude did, however, include a hard hat amongst the items being thrown at Ben as a nice visual link back to the MTIO 47 story where readers actually SEE the Yancy Street Gang.

I like the strength of the singular character in the center of the piece. A lot of fun with the rolling pin, etc flying at him. Congrats, bud!!
