Description
Ever so rarely, I'll come up with a scenario and have 2 different artists give their interpretations. The first version of this was drawn by the incredible Eric Koda and is on display elsewhere in this gallery. This one was my very first -- but not last -- commission with the amazing Chris Marrinan. Although I vaguely remembered Chris from his work on WONDER WOMAN and NOVA, it was seeing his incredible work on a Thing/Thundra piece commissioned by the great Brian "Marvel Two-in-One 76 Guy" Sagar that made me want to have him do a Brotherhood piece for me. And boy, did he ever!

Like the original, this one features the team taking on Wargod, while a leering Set, the Egyptian Deathgod, looks on. Also featured are Menthu, the Falcon, the Black Panther, Triathlon, Storm, and Prism (that's Monica Rambeau's new codename from the new Mighty Avengers series). I like Monica's new costume, because its reminiscent of her original one. Never really got behind her leather-jacket look. And oh, that's an unconscious Isis, Cleopatra, and Scarlet Scarab on the ground there.

You can contact Chris at [email protected]. Much thanks to him for a superb commission experience and to Brian Sagar, who I'm always indebted to for one thing or another. He very much rocks.

That is some DAZZLING work right there. Marrinan crushed this one like Godzilla crushed Tokyo. Another spectacular feather in the ever-astounding Brotherhood headdress!

Man! If those pencils were any tighter they would "snap"! Chris did an awesome job on this one! I will be making a return visit to him in 2014! Congrats on this great piece my friend!

I won't lie. When Chris was working back in the 80's/90's I wasn't really a fan. -But-, since he's "come back" and started doing commission work I've been really, really impressed. And this is a perfect example of the coolness that he's been bringing to his work these days.

And excellent, excellent piece Damon :)

(note to self -commission Chris again)
