Karate Kid vs.
Optimus Prime by
Robby Musso and
Simon Gough
Way back in 2010, I met Robby Musso at NOLA Con and asked him to draw me a Karate Kid vs. Optimus Prime commission. He didn't have any good supplies with him, but he did a great job on a comic book backing board with only a ballpoint pen. That piece can be seen in the additional images. I really liked the original piece, but I knew that Robby could have done a better job given more time and better supplies. So, this year at Wizard World New Orleans I gave him a chance to redo this commission. And he rocked it! Beautiful, clean lines, a detailed-Prime and an awesome-looking Val Armorr make this commission something special. I love it and I must thank Robby again for revisiting this piece! Years later I sent it over to Simon Gough and asked him to color it. Simon claims that's he's not-so-great at coloring Transformers, but I disagree! I think that Prime looks amazing here! Big thanks, once again, to Robby and Simon!
How do I think this fight would go? Easy! Karate Kid kicks Prime in the face, knocking him out. Then Val karate-chops open prime's chest, takes the Matrix of Leadership out, and uses it to destroy Unicron. THE END.
If you like this piece, then please do go buy some books featuring Robby's work.
