Pogo, Porky, and Churchy Spot Illustration from The Incompleat Pogo

This cute illustration came from the estate of Pogo historian Bill Crouch who wrote and edited several Pogo books.

Thanks to the kind research of Mark Burstein at Cartoon Art Originals, I now know where it was published... on page 184 of The Incompleat Pogo which was released in 1954. This was a new spot illustration for the book that was used to bridge the gap between reprints of daily strips.

It is a nice tribute to the genius of Walt Kelly that one panel can practically tell a story and have wonderful, and timelessly true, dialogue.
