I'll admit right up front I didn't get this series. As much as I've enjoyed the Crusaders over the years this version just did nothing for me. From the tone of the thing to some of the redesigns I just wasn't feelin' it. That said, some of the art itself was pretty cool and when I came across Joltin' Johnny Lucas selling pages on eBay the prices were ~way~ to awesome to pass up.

All out Crusader action with the Golden Age Shield (hey, the page's mine now and I can make him whomever I want him to be :P ), Fly-Girl, the Web and someone that I think was called Warhawk. Not 80's classic but a great page of the Crusaders saving the day :)

I agree, but at least they stayed pretty close to the Golden Age Shield's uniform which makes this page impressive.

If only they had followed their original intent and presented the original characters in their original uniforms in Brave and the Bold team-ups with Batman, the second DC rental of the MLJ characters might have been successful.

Yeah, that was a weird about face. Only thing I can guess there is that someone didn't read the contract with Archie as close as they should've ;)
