Description

Humorama (Timely Features, Inc.) published digests containing "girlie" cartoon gags, black & white pin-ups and jokes. Some of its more famous cartoonists included Bill Ward, Jack Cole, Bill Wenzel and Dan DeCarlo. This particular piece was first published in Fun House (9/69). Early on, Dan always signed these pieces "DSD". I suspect it was to distance these from the more mainstream youth stories in comics like Mille, Hedy, etc. This one has a signature overlay "Dan De Carlo", probably as it was published near the end of the digest runs. The caption was originally "But, Mister Brown, I've been trying to tell you... I do bird call imitations". It was changed to "... I'm your new secretary not the new chorus girl."
