Description
Aarno Karimo (1886-1952) was a controversial writer and artist whose works are steeped in nationalism, aiming to create a mythical heroic past and a sense of identity for Finland. He illustrated his books himself. This is the cover to the book Germaaneja (Germans) from 1930, a travelogue to Germany just before the rise to power of the Nazis, amidst growing anti-semitism.
